Mary Blassingame Bain was born in what she describes as a “spot in the road” – Petersburg, Texas on September 26, 1933. At 5’9” she was a basketball star at her high school, playing the post position, as well as a volleyball player and softball player. She graduated as valedictorian from Petersburg High School before moving to Tennessee to attend Bethel University in McKenzie. Tennessee is where she met her husband, Charlie Bain, to whom she was married 25 years and with whom she had two children, Steve and Sheila. Mary also spent 15 years on the mission field traveling all over the world beginning in her 40s. She did her field training in Hawaii, and then spent two years on a ship carrying supplies to all different countries, from the Philippines to New Zealand. She lived in Israel for a year, working on a farm, and also spent seven years in Manila in the Philippines as a counselor. She loves to read, exercise, play bingo, listen to music and watch movies. We are certainly excited to have Ms. Mary here with us at Regency, and we look forward to getting to know her much better each and every day! We love you, Ms. Mary!
